It all began with a shared passion for history and for man's best friend. In 2018, a small group of researchers and dog lovers met in Cluj-Napoca with a simple question: why isn't there a centralized, scientific resource that tells the complete story of canine domestication and breed evolution? We saw a great need for verified information, far from the myths and marketing of the pet product industry.
The first years were dedicated to archival research and collaboration with geneticists and historians. We launched the first website in 2020, with just a few articles. The response was overwhelming. The community grew, and our project became a recognized educational platform. Today, HistoryOfDogs is a trusted source for students, responsible breeders, and anyone wanting to understand the true bond between humans and dogs throughout the millennia.
